The first time I encountered fused dichroic glass jewelry I was fascinated. I had never in my life seen anything like it. I was mesmerized by how the colors changed as I moved the piece in my hand. What was this mystery glass that was so unique? I had to know.

Originally developed by NASA, dichroic glass is actually coated with many layers of metals or oxides. This coating causes the glass to transmit one color while reflecting a different color. Numerous colors can be seen by holding the glass at different angles. This same phenomenon can be found in soap bubbles, oil on water and even butterfly wings!

Dichroic glass is always changing. It's unique and vibrant and mysterious all at the same time. As I learned more about fused glass, I realized that all kiln-fired glass has a shine and sparkle that is undeniable.  And so I decided I wanted to share that with others!

I create all of my fused glass pieces in my studio which is in the middle of the woods, hence the name Woodland Art Glass. I spend a great deal of time carefully handcrafting each piece. I believe that there is beauty in all kinds of art and that beauty can bring joy.

Even if we've been through challenging seasons in life, deep down there are still dreams, a spark and an appreciation of beautiful things. May I encourage you to choose jewelry that is sparkling, timeless, and a bit daring..... Just like you!
